Sandals Resorts?

Are the Sandals Resorts for married couples only? My boyfriend and I have been dating for a while and want to take a vacation. I%26#039;m all for the all inclusive resorts and I would prefer a place where there are no children. I like kids, don%26#039;t get me wrong. But, resorts that are family friendly, tend to pay more attention to kids/families then childless adults.

I don%26#039;t want to book a trip there to find out it%26#039;s all married couples? A bit awkard and difficult to explain to people who ask.

What are people%26#039;s experiences at Sandals? Which one did you stay at? Was in all inclusive? If it was and you don%26#039;t mind me asking, how much did it cost? What kind of room did you stay in?

Sandals Resorts?
I think Sandals is a family resort but Couples (if those are still around) are as they sound for couples. Never mind that, I looked at the website. Sandals is a couples only thing--married or not doesn%26#039;t matter.

Beaches must be the family resort.
Reply:They are for anyone that wants to go, married or not.

Its just that they have special things if you want to get married or have a honeymoon there.

All Sandals are all-inclusive (some things are charged separately). Beaches is the Sandals equivalent for kids.

Reply:Along with being a Wedding Coordinator, I am also a Travel Agent and a Certified Sandals Specialist, and no, you do not have to be married to stay at a Sandals Resort. It is designed for couples to relax away from children, but there is no marriage requirement.

As for costs, it would depend on which location you chose, type of room, etc.
Reply:My wife and I did Sandals in St. Lucia for our honeymoon and we LOVED it. There are three Sandals resorts on the island, and each is a slightly different experience. There is the Grand, which is the %26quot;Big Daddy%26quot;--thousands of rooms, and just about every activity you could imagine. The Regency is the place to go to relax. There is a world-class spa and golf course on this property. We stayed at the Halcyon Beach, which we loved because it is the smallest of the three, and we got to know many of the other couples there, and even the staff (we thought the bigger ones were a bit more impersonal).

The great thing is that there are free shuttles that will take you to either of the other two resorts, and you are free to use all facilities there, too. The slogan is, %26quot;Stay at one, play at three.%26quot;

As for cost, I seem to remember it was about $4,000 for a full week for both of us (all food %26amp; drink included, of course), but your travel agent can give you a better estimate.

Have a blast!
Reply:My wife and I stayed for our honeymoon but met a couple that was not married. We loved it, champaign flight, champaign in lobby @ resort (Sandals Royal-Bahamian@Cable Beach). We had a great corner room, all-inclusive, private beaches and MUCHmore, boat ride to near by island for dinner 2 nights(10 min. ride). Steps from bus stop into Nassau, blocks from casino, didn%26#039;t see any kids, but didn%26#039;t really ask, staff VERY friendly. $1600.00 total, but that was ten years ago. Good luck.
Reply:Ask a travel agent the questions---no kids is not a problem---just don%26#039;t guess or assume anything--get the details. And who cares if you two are married??? No one asks or cares. make sure you BOTH agree to every detail of the arrangements--once you are there it will suck if one of you is mad or pouting. The room is to sleep and dress---go cheap---you will want to be outside as much as possible---or why bother to go?? try a cruise that goes just a couple of days to no where special--just to see if you like it. that is just like a Sandals place anyway...only it floats.
Reply:I am actually going to a Sandals resort for my honeymoon. Right now they have AMAZING rates, up to 50% off, we got an $8,000 room for a little under $4000. It is completely all inclusive, even a top shelf bar is included. It looks beautiful. Our room has a balcony, a whirlpool, a seperate shower, the 4 post king bed, and its HUGE. We also overlook the beach and are in hop skip and jump distance from the biggest pool on the resort.

My brother and his wife have gone there and they loved it as well.

Actually, my brother and my sister in law werent married yet when they went and they had the time of their lives there, they just went for fun too!! Go for it, it will be very nice!! and i%26#039;m telling u.. book asap.. its $400 down and u can pay the rest in incriments over the time until u go up til a month before your dates are, and the specials they have right now are AMAZING

With sandals they have i think 2-3 resorts that are family friendly. The rest are couples resorts, dont HAVE to be married, its just a nice way to get away and just have a couples time.
Reply:No, Sandals resorts don%26#039;t require you be married. Most say %26quot;couples only%26quot; because they don%26#039;t allow children. Usually it%26#039;s 18 or above in all of the couples only, but make sure you reserve one of them. I%26#039;m pretty sure Sandals has some resorts that are for the whole family.

I booked my honeymoon at the Sandals Grande St. Lucian in St. Lucia for this August. It%26#039;s got two other Sandals resorts that are minutes away. And with there plan you stay at one, play at three. You%26#039;ll have access to all the resturants and features that the other two Sandals has no matter which one you book at. The only catch is you have to spend the night in the one you booked. Otherwise they drive you there and back and everything%26#039;s still all included.

So i%26#039;d suggest you try them out. It%26#039;s under the hurricane belt so if you%26#039;re traveling during hurricane season which i think it like May till the end of September you%26#039;re going to want to make sure you%26#039;re in St. Lucia because it%26#039;s one of the only Sandals resort islands that%26#039;s under the hurricane belt so you don%26#039;t get messed up in a tropical storm on your trip.

Call a travel agent near you and talk it all out with them. Mine was able to get us an amazing deal. We saved over a grand with him by not booking with Sandals directly. Most travel agents get a group rate, discounts and deals. So good luck and have fun!
Reply:No it%26#039;s for COUPLES ONLY- so you will feel right at home.

They usually are a bit pricey- check cheaptickets.com and I believe Jamaica%26#039;s Sandals is about the cheapest.........
Reply:No they are not only for married couples, just for adults only and no explanations are necessary as I%26#039;m sure since the setting is one of romance most people are going to be focused on each other. BTW have you checked out the Grand Rio Oches (romeo %26amp; juliet suite) its is gorgeous.
Reply:All Sandals resorts are SUPER ALL INCLUSIVE.

They are not for married couples only, they are for couples only (no children). They are very romantic. The Sandals Royal Bahamian is their SIGNATURE resort. It has 8 restaurants, 7 pools, 5 hot tubs, 4 swim up bars, misting pool and a water taxi shuttle to another private island. They have a luxury spa (additional charge for services). I have booked for Aug. 2007 the cost is $590. per night per couple for a DeLuxe room. You also might want to look at Sandals Royal Carribean.
Reply:We went to Couples resort in Ocho Rios jamaica.... they have 5 resorts in total I believe, and they aren%26#039;t just for married couples.

There are NO Kids allowed. It was a fabulous time!
